About Coach Andrew

Andrew Stephens serves as the Head Coach of the Canyon High School Robotics program. He has spent more than four years mentoring and developing student engineers, programmers, designers, and leaders in Middle School and High School robotics programs.

Passionate about STEM education, Andrew is dedicated to creating an environment where students gain hands-on engineering experience while developing the teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills needed for future success.

Professionally, Andrew is a Regional Engineer with MiTek’s SidePlate Systems division, specializing in structural steel design, engineering solutions, and project development for building projects throughout the US. In his role, he works closely with structural engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver innovative seismic and structural design solutions for complex commercial, healthcare, educational, and high-rise construction projects.

Andrew brings his real-world engineering experience into the robotics program, helping students apply engineering principles to design, build, and compete with high-performance robots. He believes robotics is one of the most effective ways to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators by allowing students to transform ideas into reality through teamwork, creativity, and technical excellence.

Under his leadership, Canyon High School Robotics emphasizes technical proficiency, safety, gracious professionalism, and student leadership development. His goal is not only to help students succeed in competition, but also to prepare them for college, careers, and lifelong learning.
